This is one of the itineraries that best characterize the meaning for “Slow Panorama”, a set of landscape, nature, environment and culture between Lake Maggiore, the Val Grande and the Cannobina Valley.
Imagine a path for everyone, which alternates mighty beech trees, spruces woods and birch trees sparse within the perimeter of the pasture, all this with a wonderful view, divided between the Alps and Lake Maggiore.
It is the chain of the mounts Tondone (1243m), Pian Bello (1323m), Cima Ologno (1127m) and the solitary Carza (1116m): four peaks aligned, with a sunny hillside overlooking the lake and the opposite one characterized by a single, continuous, shady beech woods.
Easy route but great sensations: this is what we call “Slow Panorama”, not to be missed!
From the car park of Piazza of Trarego, take along the track up to the lovely little church of Sant'Eurosia, surrounded by beeches.
Immediately after the church take right along the path going slightly uphill and once at the top walk along the ridge to the left leading to Cima Tondone.
Then go back to where you start at the top of the hill and continue along the ridge before reaching first Cima Forcola, then Monte Pian Bello and finally Cima Ologno.
The track of the path is very clear but you can direct yourself according to your own emotions, discovering views on Lake Maggiore in verdant surroundings.
For the return, take the road with little traffic that will shortly lead you back to Piazza (20 min).
Along the road the view point of Ologno is remarkable, where there is a panel describing the panorama over Lake Maggiore.
This is a SLOW PANORAMA itinerary.
