Highlands Lakes

Along the highest military road of Lake Maggiore, on top of the rocky ridge separating the Intrasca Valley from the Cannobina Valley you will go up to “the Zeda” where you will get a reward: you will get lost in one of the most beautiful view, from Monte Rosa to the Swiss Alps, passing from the wild Val Grande down towards Lake Maggiore, the Po Plain and beyond… this is  “Slow Panorama”!

Route Description

From Colle continue by car along the military road of the Cadorna Line, recently restored, up to Pian d'Arla then Pianpuzzo where you go on the North side to reach Archia and then Passo Folungo.

Here it is possible to leave the car and from Passo Folungo you can continue on foot on the military road that definitely changes its slope going up with a series of bends up to Pian Vadà.

From here the military road becomes a comfortable flat path leading to Piè Zeda and brings you with a steep climb to the top of Monte Zeda, affectionately called "the Zeda", one of the most scenic places of Lake Maggiore, a balcony suspended between the Val Grande and the lake, a must!
