Highlands Lakes

The association “TERRE ALTE DEL LAGO MAGGIORE E DEL LAGO DI MERGOZZO” is located in Cambiasca, inland from Verbania (VB).

The Municipalities that are part of the Association are:

• Cambiasca
• Caprezzo
• Cossogno
• Intragna
• Mergozzo
• Miazzina
• Premeno
• San Bernardino Verbano
• Vignone

The funding members are:

• Valgrande and Mergozzo lake's Mountain Union
• Arizzano, Vignone and Premeno's Mountain Union
• City of Bèe
• City of Cossogno

The activities of the Association are to promoting and benefit the social utility for the community of Highlands territories, working with cultural, social, artistic, educational, sports, touristic and recreational activities, study, analysis, promotion and spread of values, traditions and customs of the Highlands.

Especifically the association aims to:

• promote and enhance the cultural, touristic and economic enjoyment of the Alpine world, contributing to the spread and promotion of Highlands culture in every field, doing everything possible to develop the territories and facilitate resettlement
• promote initiatives for the development of cultural, touristic, social, economic and environmental heritage of Highlands territories and communities, also through the management of areas and facilities and through the promotion or direct management of accommodation businesses, hotels and other
• organize shows, educational courses, seminars and informational and cultural events at every level in the Alpine and pre-alpine area
• promote the spread of publications, including multimedial ones, about the Highlands
• promote innovative initiatives in the social, economic, cultural, educational, touristic field for rural and alpine communities in general
• enhance, promote, protect and restore Highlands' cultural, architectural and monumental heritage
